Why? We have an unique Orchid Garden you will not find any place else. It is an ecoproject, an effort to rescue and conserve wild orchids. You will discover over 250 species, all native to the area. In addition there are bromeliads, heliconias, gesnereas, ferns and vines. Your accomodation will be right in the Orchid Garden. The garden attracts up to 9 different species of hummingbirds. Observe them while having your breakfast! During your stay you are based in a region of lush biodiversity, known as a birdwatchers paradise. Our family owned Lodge supports ecological sustainability and local economy. We have English speaking staff and offer you best quality at the best price.
The Lodge is located on walking distance from the mainstreet of Mindo. Mindo is a little village with restaurants, minimarkets, internetshops, ATM, busconnection and much more. Just a 3 minute walk to join activities like birdwatching, watertubing, visiting waterfalls, or go fishing. You can also book excursions around themes like coffee or cocao. Enjoy the peace and quiet while having the comfort of all important services at the same time.
History and backgrounds
Armonia Lodge and the Orchid Graden are a family owned business. It was born in the year 2000 with the initiative of creating a place of harmonious accommodation, that allows its customers to enjoy the aroma of flowers, the song of birds and nature in its purest form. Armonia Lodge is identified with the struggle for the conservation of nature, which is why the cabins are located in a natural environment surrounded by trees and in the center of the Orchid Garden.
The owners have always been involved in ecological sustainablity, through conservation of nature, participation in the Christmas Bird Count and forming part of the Guides Association. Armenia Lodge is characterized for being a business where the spirit of overcoming, simplicity and ethics have always guided the management. Training to employees and working with volunteers are part of our vision.
